Taliban fire rockets into Bagram base

KABULinfo-icon(PANinfo-icon): Several foreign troops were killed and wounded in a missile attack on the biggest US military base in central Afghanistaninfo-icon, Talibaninfo-icon fighters claimed on Saturday.

The missiles were fired from Husseinkhel area into the Bagram Airbase in Parwan province late on Friday night, militant spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The missiles landed inside the sprawling base, inflicting casualties on foreign troops, he said over the telephone from an undisclosed location. However, he gave no specific casualty figures.

While confirming the attack, the US military media office in Bagram said that two rockets landed in barren areas inside the base. The attack caused no casualties, it added.
