Attaullah Khogyani, the spokesman for Maidan Wardak governor, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a drone strike killed five rebels including a dreaded commander on Monday night in Emardad district.

Two Taliban fighters, including a commander were killed in another drone attack in Chak district, he said, adding that civilians remained unhurt in the attacks.

Meanwhile, Baraki Barak district chief Mohammad Rahim Amin said police attacked a vehicle carrying a Taliban commander Mullahinfo-icon Wazir and his three body guards. The commander and one of his body guards were killed on the spot while two other fighters sustained injuries in the attack.
