60 rescued as ANA troops raid Taliban-run prison in Helmand
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghan National Army (ANA) has raided a Taliban
-run prison in southern Helmand province, freeing scores of captives, the Ministry of Defence said on Friday.
As a result of the overnight raid by ANA’s Special Operation Forces in Nawzad district, 60 individuals were released from Taliban’s captivity, a statement from the ministry said.
It added two insurgents were killed and three others wounded during the military action, which led to the destruction of at least 10 motorcycles and seizure of a large quantity of explosive were confiscated.
