PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): As the Torkham border crossing stays closed, dozens of frustrated Afghans on Sunday protested in the duty town of Landikotal.

The Afghan families converged on Landikotal, hoping border would be reopened, but they were not allowed to proceed beyond the Landikotal-Torkham bypass road.

Disappointed by several hours of wait, the Afghans staged a protest outside the Landikotal press club. The demonstrators said to go back to their country as they were left with no cash.

The protestor, including womeninfo-icon and children, said they had come to Pakistaninfo-icon for medical treatment, but the border closure had added to their suffering.

On the other hand, Torkham-based immigration officials and political administration said they had no idea when the border would be reopened.
