2 would-be suicide bombers shot dead in Kapisa
MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): Two would-be suicide bombers have been shot dead in the Tagab district of central Kapisa province, a military statement said on Tuesday.
The 201st Selab Military Corps said the suicide attackers on motorcycles wanted to target security forces in the district on Monday evening. They were gunned down by Afghan soldiers and their suicide vests also went off.
Police spokesman Mohammad Ayub Yousafzai confirmed the incident took place in Ahmadzai area of Tagab. The rebels planned to target Afghan Local Police (ALP) personnel but were killed before they could execute their plan.
Separately, four insurgent were killed during a clash with security forces in the same district. The Taliban have so far said nothing regarding the incidents.
