319 police cadets graduate from Kabul training centre

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): As many as 319 police cadets and sergeants, including 19 females, on Tuesday graduated from the Afghan National Police (ANP) Training Centre in Kabul.

The training center commander, Brig. Gen. Abdul Basir Saidkhili at the graduation ceremony said: “The new graduates hold higher and semi-higher academic degrees in medical and Islamic Shariahinfo-icon and after their documents were attested by the Ministry of Interior (MoI), they were engaged in a four month training in the spheres of thinking, faith, and healthinfo-icon.”

Acting interior minister Wais Ahmad Barmak told the graduates that they were the guarantors of peace and stability in the country. He urged the graduates to perform duty with a national spirit irrespective of their affiliation with specific ethnicity, sect or political party.

He promised early solution to issues at the police training centre, saying: “The MoI is making efforts to increase the number of policewomen and providing them facilities.”

Jamila, who graduated from the training centre’s health sector, said she was content with good behavior of her teachers at the training centre. However, she complained about lack of accommodation facilities at the centre.

Jamila, who held a midwifery degree, said: “There is no housing facility at the centre to stay for night; I was obliged to come from Paghman district every day.”

Mohammad Ashraf, who graduated from the Islamic Shariah department of the training centre, asked the Afghan youth to join police and protect the countrymen. He also asked the government to take serious security measures for their dispatch to insecure provinces.
