4 civilians dead, 14 wounded as blast rocks Khost City

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Four civilians were killed and 14 others wounded as a result of a landmine explosion in southeastern Khost province on Sunday, an official said.

Police chief Brig. Gen. Faizullah Ghairat told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast took place at 11:00am in a mobile phone market in the city. The official said the explosives had been placed in a mobile store.

No one has so far been arrested in connection with the bombing, but a police search is ongoing. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.

Meanwhile, Public Healthinfo-icon Director Dr. Habib Shah Ansari said four bodies and 14 injured people were evacuated to hospital. Some of the injured are said to be in critical condition.
